Irene & Reed Welcome New Bassist, Eric Latham

Irene & Reed would like to officially welcome our newest musical addition to the I&R family, bassist Eric Latham. We’re excited to have him aboard and can’t wait for our fans to hear him on upright bass, as well as on electric bass guitar…. His admiration of Al Green and Jamiroquai and his sophisticated, yet laid back style are just small parts of what makes our new band member special. Please help welcome him to the group!

Eric Latham

A native of the Midwest, Eric Latham has been playing the bass in the Indianapolis area for nearly a decade. Primarily a sideman and studio bassist, his influences include James Jamerson, Robbie Shakespeare, and Ron Carter. Latham’s experience playing across a variety of musical genres, including jazz, reggae, rock, blues, folk, and R&B has enabled him to develop strong skills on both the electric bass guitar and the double bass. His personal playing style is melodic and soulful, and he thrives on adapting quickly to other musicians and providing exceptional support to their own styles. Latham has also been inspired by the music of Jamiroquai, Freddie Hubbard, Sade, Burning Spear, and Al Green.
