Intuition

Struggle, Strength, Reclamation
Lyrics by Leslie Benson, 2011

Bouncing back’s easy
most of the time.
Harder to win than lose.
I keep my head up to catch my breath,
’cause I’m rooting for you.

Don’t take lightly—
intuition.
Let it guide you.
Listen closely,
what you learn will
pull you through.

I’m walking on a tightrope, baby.
Walking on a tightrope, baby.
Walking on a tightrope.

Don’t take lightly—
intuition.
Let it guide you.
Listen closely,
what you learn will
pull you through.

Letting your guard down comes with a price.
Harder to win than lose.
I keep my head up arms open wide,
’cause I’m on your side.

Don’t take lightly—
intuition.
Let it guide you.
Listen closely,
what you learn will
pull you through.

Don’t take lightly—
intuition.
Let it guide you.
Listen closely,
what you learn will
pull you through.

I’m walking on a tightrope, baby.
Walking on a tightrope, baby.
Walking on a tightrope, BABY.

About the Song

You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you know something, or someone, is wrong? It gnaws at you like an imp on your shoulder, tugging you in one direction, while you try to resist and pull in the other. But the unspoken truth knows best. We can tell when someone is lying. We know when someone is bad for us. And we know when we’ve met the right one.

“Stop kicking yourself for making the wrong choices, and start making the right ones,” says singer-songwriter Leslie I. Benson. “Life is too short not to trust your intuition.”
